Welcome to the project website «INTEGRATED SYSTEM FOR THE MAPPING AND MANAGEMENT OF SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF PUBLIC POLICY AND CONTACT WITH CITIZENS»

Purpose of the Project

The project aims to improve the quality of life, the mapping of social dynamics and the strengthening of social cohesion in the area of the Municipality of Drama, with emphasis on parameters such as poverty, unemployment, environmental issues and the identification of social inequalities, in order to pursue specific solutions and promote targeted social policies and actions in the area.

The use of new technologies makes a decisive contribution to highlighting the ‘social characteristics’ of the area, resulting in a comprehensive and fully documented ‘picture’. Thus, the decisions and social policies and actions of the municipality will be fully targeted to groups of the population facing problems, reducing social inequalities and improving the quality of life of all citizens. In addition, the publication of the data and results of the project through the Internet Geoportal contributes to the “projection” and “communication” of the “social characteristics” of the Municipality to the citizens and in this way the implementation of policies and actions of the Municipality will be informed and “participatory” through the awareness of citizens.

Specific Objectives of the Project

  • Recording of specific indicators in detail per municipal district or settlement or neighbourhood or even per block (in the case of a sufficient sample), relating to employment, unemployment, income, human development indicators, social reality, crime, age composition, family composition,
  • To make the planned policies directly applicable, targeted and immediately effective,
